My guess is, the PR director of Malaysia Airlines had a discussion with the CEO and board of directors and it went something like this: “Ladies and gentlemen, we have been faced with yet another human tragedy. Once again, hundreds of lives have been lost while in our care and custody. Granted, both of these disasters are shrouded in mystery and have not been linked to a fault in our people or equipment – but they happened to our planes and the public will hold us accountable to a degree.
